A Collection of Lectures by Various Authors
Active 1 month ago. Viewed 44k times. While it's a nice short introduction to some set theory and logic, the final chapter on category theory is too short and not at all well explained. It is however a neat little book for logic and sets This is a very fuzzy question.

Clark Feb 13 '11 at It is a supplement to this article. Vinay Mar 9 '16 at Akhil Mathew. But even with this companion, I am not really sure if Lang is a good textbook to learn from. I wouldn't say it does very much category theory either. It turned out that it wasn't so obvious, and they wrote an article about the proof. Quite fun. I think Lang has an absolutely fantastic idea of what topics to include, but the exposition is not ideal.
These lecture notes by Schapira are better: people. With the added bonus of learning some nice alg top along with it.

I happen to think it's a terrific and modern introduction to homological algebra and related fields. What's wrong with the book. Your comment really made me not want to read the book especially because it has 7 upvotes, although it doesn't explain anything. Dylan Wilson. It's Lawvere and Schanuel's Conceptual Mathematics.
Which is a really wonderful book for learning some category theory if you don't have the background to understand the heavy duty algebraic topology etc examples that enter into some discussions of CT at a very early stage. See maths. And it will be available free online in January, I note that it's in arrangement with the publisher and that the book will be both freely downloadable and freely editable. As such, it was highly pleasant - but I am not a good example of what a newcomer'll need Kevin H. But it's a good general reference, in the same way that wikipedia is a good general reference but shouldn't be used as a text. Lin May 4 '13 at It is indeed an excellent algebra book, but the last chapter is not very good. Updated the link to the text. But I get the impression that the category theorists of today don't take that remark all that seriously.

In today's world many people live, learn and work in international and multicultural environments. Intercultural communication has become an important topic in many fields of work and study. Given the complexities of globalization, knowledge of cultures and cultural differences is rarely sufficient.
In this book, interpersonal communication forms the point of departure: the meeting of people, not of cultures. The authors describe what diversity competence entails: which processes, challenges and skills are relevant in a 'superdiverse' world. They demonstrate how the TOPOI model offers an inclusive, communicative approach to analyzing and addressing potential miscommunication. The target audience for Diversity Competence includes students, educators and professionals in the fields of communication and media, business, management and leadership, governance and international relations and cooperation.
This book would be suitable for students, educators and professionals in the fields of communication and media, business, management and leadership, governance and international relations and cooperation.
